The original romanesque cathedral was consecrated in Girona (Catalonia) on September 21, 1038 and the cloisters survive from this period. The gothic cathedral - replacing the original building - was started in 1416 and includes the widest gothic nave in Europe at 22.98m.
I am currently based in Tuscany, Italy and Cairo, Egypt, having previously lived in the US, Netherlands and Britain.
