The Parthenon was dedicated to the goddess Athena - the protector of Athens. Construction of the Doric Order temple began within the Athenian acropolis in 447 B.C. and was completed in 432-431 B.C.

I am currently based in Tuscany, Italy and Cairo, Egypt, having previously lived in the US, Netherlands and Britain.
