Description
Dougga (Thugga) is an extraordinarily well-preserved city in northern Tunisia. Originally a fortified Berber village, it served as the seat of the Numidian king, Masinissa, in the 2nd century B.C.. The Romans occupied the city in the late 2nd century B.C.. The city eventually declined under Byzantine, then Vandal, occupation.
