Description
Chichen Itza (approximately 'the mouth of Itza's well') was a large Mayan city from about AD 600 until around AD 1000 and is regularly visited from Cancun and other resorts on the Yucatan coast of Mexico. The Temple step-pyramid of Kukulcan (a feathered-serpent deity) pictured here dominates the site. The structure is 30m (99') and each side measures 55.3m (181') at the base.
